Dear Friends and Family,
It is an exciting time at Happy Canyon Vineyard as harvest is upon us. The winter and spring rains have given way to the summer and autumn heat. Looking south from our vineyard, fence lizards scatter and turkey vultures fly against the barren background of the Santa Ynez Mountains. The usually green mountain range is now charred black from a recent forest fire. Turning north, polo ponies find much needed shade under oaks against the backdrop of the golden Figueroa mountains.
This promises to be a great year for Happy Canyon Vineyard wines. Early spring rains, mild flowering weather, and a warm dry summer, have resulted in even, consistent, and balanced grape clusters. Enjoy a summer picnic with our newly released 2016 Barrack Family Estate Blanc or a BBQ with our Piocho Bordeaux red blend. Harvest is a perfect time to experience the vineyard firsthand with our vineyard tour and tastings, or join us at our Santa Barbara tasting room. To celebrate harvest and a great polo season, please join us at the Santa Barbara Polo and Wine Festival on October 7th at Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club. Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you soon.
