LETTERS

Dear Friends and Family,
Here at Piocho Ranch and Happy Canyon Vineyard, it’s a lot more about why we exist, then what we do. While the labor of our hands is about caring for our horses, tending to our vineyards, growing our oat hay, plowing and seeding our newly created organic farm, and crafting great wines; The love of our hearts is about doing something far greater, and far more important. It is about uniting as a family to be good stewards of the land and having the passion and commitment to leave this wonderful place better then we found it. This love of land, dedication to excellence, and passion for this place is who we are and what we live for.
For me personally, it started here on June 30th, 2001, when I hugged and kissed my new wife. Together we stood in the center of our Polo fields, below a newly created block of head-trained vines, grasping each other’s hands and anticipating, dreaming, and committing to our life together. Now today, like our lives, our vines have grown, struggled through hard years, thrived through excellent vintages, and continually carve their own path. With each passing year, the repetition of one year fades to the dawn of another and brings a new day and a new life. The vines were planted such that the fruit they bear gives us a sweet memory of our past and the beautiful taste of our future.
That wonderful wedding day, now fifteen years ago still stands as clear in my mind as it happened just one minute ago. My love for my wife, and now our two kids grows like a wildflower every single day. I am blessed, thankful and so very lucky to call this place my home. There is an unmatched magic here, which continually teaches us to respect the land, live for the moment, and share all that this place has given us. Just as the story of our marriage here, each of our family members has a story to tell about struggle, new lives together, new kids and new memories of laughter and joy. Each grape we grow, and each bottle of wine we produce aims to capture these moments. It is truly honor to share these moments and our passion for this place with you.
